Iowa football: Recruit Riley McMinn joins Hawkeyes

McMinn became the newest member of the Iowa football program Sunday night. The 6-7, 225-pound defensive end from Rochester, Ill., selected the Hawkeyes over scholarship offers from a list of schools that included Boston College, Wisconsin, Illinois, Central Michigan, Kansas and Indiana.

Julian Vandervelde has been singing the blues this summer.

No, not because Iowa must replace four of its top six offensive linemen, leaving Vandervelde and sophomore Riley Reiff to anchor the group.

Vandervelde literally has been singing the blues. The senior offensive guard is a karaoke king for the Hawkeyes, and he can sometimes be found singing back home in Davenport.
