Iowa football: Hawks, Bucks battle for recruit

[ 3 ] October 6, 2010 |

Iowa and Ohio State won’t face each other until Nov. 20 at Kinnick Stadium, but the two schools already are competing for one of the top high school linebackers from Pennsylvania.

Ejuan Price, a 6-foot, 235-pound senior from Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh, recently told Scout.com that Iowa and Ohio State were his two leaders.

“I don’t have a favorite school, but I would just say that I’m down to Iowa and Ohio State,” Price said. “But I’m still listening to what other schools have to say and I’m open to hearing from other schools.”

Price told Scout.com that he was in the process of scheduling an official visit to Iowa at a date yet to be determined.

In addition to Iowa and Ohio State, Price also has received scholarship offers from West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Michigan State among other schools.

However, Price told Scout.com that Pittsburgh wasn’t really recruiting him anymore when asked how Pittsburgh stacked up against Iowa and Ohio State.

“If they would start back I would definitely consider them,” Price said of Pittsburgh. “Iowa and Ohio State are very close in my mind and it’s tough to separate the two of them.”

Price is ranked as a four-star prospect by Scout.com and the 11th best linebacker nationally in the 2011 senior class.
