Wrestle-offs show where Hawks need work

[ 1 ] November 13, 2010 |

Iowa concluded three days of wrestle-offs Saturday morning in the UI Field House practice gym.

“We’ve got a lot of obvious things to work on,” Iowa coach Tom Brands said. “Those things come into sharp focus when you have an event like this.”

A total of 12 bouts were contested Saturday, with 16 of the 24 competitors being underclassmen.

The defending NCAA Champions open the 2010-11 season Friday with the third annual Iowa City Duals. Iowa will take on Iowa Central at 4 p.m. and Coe College at 6 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
