Iowa running back Wegher is transferring
Iowa running back Brandon Wegher is transferring, associate athletic director Fred Mims said Friday night.
“He requested his transfer, and we granted it,” Mims said while watching the Iowa-Iowa State basketball game.
Wegher scored eight touchdowns as a freshman in 2009, but did not play last season for personal reasons.
Mims said a condition in the transfer is that Wegher not transfer to a school within the Big Ten Conference.
Wegher could not immediately be reached for comment.
