Iowa’s Prater talks about Rhabdo — first and only time

[ 0 ] March 31, 2011 |

Iowa City, Ia. – Shaun Prater didn’t have to talk about Rhabdo during his standup session Wednesday with reporters who cover the Iowa football team.

He could have said “no comment,” and moved on to questions that dealt with what the 2011 season holds.

He didn’t.

“I think it’s good to talk about. . .so this can be the end of it,” Prater said. “It was up to me.”

Prater was told by coaches that he didn’t have to address the issue.

“Coach told the seniors that if we don’t feel comfortable talking about it. . . .we didn’t have to.”

Rightly, Prater figured getting this part of the Rhabdo situation out of the way during spring ball was better than discussing it during the season.

Here’s some of what he said:
