Former Hawkeye Rodell Davis named assistant at Loyola

[ 0 ] April 8, 2011 |

Rodell Davis, a former player at Iowa and assistant basketball coach at Drake, has been hired as an assistant coach at Loyola of Chicago.

Davis, who graduated from Thornton High School in suburban Chicago, was a three-year letterman under coach Tom Davis at Iowa. Rodell Davis graduated in 1992.

He’s been an assistant coach under Keno Davis the past four seasons – the first at Drake, the last three at Providence.

“I’m really excited to have Rodell join the staff,’’ new Loyola coach Porter Moser said. “He is a true Chicago guy and we have made it a priority to recruit the city, the surrounding area and the nation. I have known Rodell for a long time and his reputation is impeccable. I think he is a great fit here.’’
