Kachine waived by Lynx
Former Iowa guard Kachine Alexander was waived on Friday by the Minnesota Lynx.
Alexander was picked in the third round (26th) of the WNBA Draft last month.
The Lynx also cut guard Angel Robinson, who was picked in the second round (22nd overall).
“They both had solid training camps,” Roger Griffith, Lynx executive Vice President told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “They both came in and performed well as rookies. There are things we liked about both of them. Cuts usually are hard and this was no exception.
“But in the end run, rookies have things to learn. Both are solid basketball players and if they keep working, who knows where they will end up.”
Alexander, who played for Benilde-St. Margaret’s in Minneapolis, was a two-time All-Big Ten player for the Hawkeyes. She was the first Hawkeye to be picked in the WNBA Draft since 2006.
