How has Dan Gable inspired you?

[ 1 ] August 16, 2011 |

Do you have a great story to tell about Hawkeye wrestling legend Dan Gable? Maybe a tale of how you met the famous coach, or how his exploits inspired you to greatness?

We want you to share your story right here on Gable Untold..

This is Your Life, Dan Gable, part of the annual FRY Fest celebration, will honor the Hawkeye legend at noon on Sept. 2 in a live, 90-minute version of the famous 1950s TV show. There will be big screen documentary video and lots of guests on hand to help Dan remember his collegiate career and two NCAA championships, his Olympic Gold Medal, and his unprecedented coaching success at Iowa. Dan knows he’ll be honored – but FRY Fest is planning a few celebrity surprises, too.

The show is a ticketed event. Only the first 500 fans in line at 10 a.m. The World’s Largest Hawkeye Tradeshow will receive a complimentary ticket.

If YOU submit your Dan Gable story here, and if FRY Fest organizers choose your story as the winner, you will get free tickets to the event and might even get the chance to tell your Dan Gable story live on stage.

All you have to do is type up your story and submit it to us by copying and pasting it into our online submission form here.

Your story, along with your name, will appear live right here on Gable Untold. That’s where FRY Fest organizers will read and decide who gets the right to tell their story live on stage.

We need your submission by Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, so get typing! We recommend you compose your story in another application (such as a word processor) and copy-and-paste it into the online form. We’re not looking for brilliant writing, just an honest, true, heartfelt story about one of the greatest coaches in organized sports.
