WR/DB Ruben Lile picks Hawkeyes
For the second time this month, the Iowa football program has received a verbal commitment from a member of the same high school team in Detroit.
Ruben Lile, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver/defensive back from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, announced his decision to attend Iowa after playing in a high school game Saturday night.
Lile’s high school teammate, linebacker Laron Taylor, committed to Iowa in early August.
Lile is believed to be at least the 10th high school senior to commit to Iowa during this recruiting period.
He picked Iowa over Wisconsin and Vanderbilt.
Lile is ranked as a three-star prospect by Scout.com and as the 28th best safety in the 2012 senior class.
FLEMING SHINES: Iowa recruit Maurice Fleming got his senior season off to a rousing start by finishing with over 400 yards offense this past Friday.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Fleming ran for 240 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 196 yards and two touchdowns while leading Chicago’s Curie High School to a 39-13 victory over Argo.
Fleming plays quarterback in high school, but is expected to switch to cornerback or receiver at Iowa.
