Peterson: How much damage will Denard Robinson cause Saturday?

[ 9 ] November 3, 2011 |

If average quarterbacks become super stars when playing against Iowa, then how will Michigan’s Denard Robinson fare on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium?

And oh by the way. . .

I don’t doubt for a minute that Denard will have a big game in terms of yards against the Hawks. But I expect he will make 2 or 3 critical mistakes that turn the ball over to Iowa. Either those stop drives or yield cheap points for Iowa. either way, I hope, pray, and expect a Hawk win.

    GO HAWKS!!!!!

Our coaches are doing Iowa a disservice if they do not key on Denard. The guy cannot pass. He is better than last year, but still not much of a threat. If we go after him almost every play we will not allow him to run and he will hae a tough time passing under pressure. I think Dominic Alvis should have a big day. He’s got speed and he is not afraid to dive for the ankle tackle to get the job done. Anyway, look at how MSU took care of the Nard dog. Granted they are a dirty, filthy team with a sleezy coach that will sacrifice all integrity for a win, but they got it right by keeping pressure on denard and the run in general. Then michigan becomes one dimensional and I like those odds even with the receivers they have.

Denard will have a Heisman highlight reel day, but hopefully the O-Line & Coker can put together a few highlights which will look good against a Michigan team, and Coker def should be considered a real contender for the Doak Walker Award.

I’m bringing my “Bozo the Clown” sand filled punching bag with me to watch the game. Hopefully that will preserve several walls.

    Stop Denard Robinson?

This Hawkeye defense can’t even stop the same Minnesota Gopher team that was crushed by North Dakota State. We seem to be lacking as to size, speed, scheming, execution. Worst of all, the team plays with no heart whatsoever when the game is on the line.

This started and was pretty evident at the beginning of last year. The Arizona game was the beginning of 3rd and whatever’s being converted consistently. Throughout the year it never really changed. We could not get Ohio State off the field when it mattered, and only a horrible decision by Gabbert saved us back in the desert. As an ex-d lineman watching a team march up & down the field, plus gashing us for 4-8 yds a pop is nauseating. Really bad angles being taken, lack of wrap up, and driving through the back…whatever, it is purely sickening. Would someone please drink a glass of Matt Roth blood, or start eating from the sixteen penny nail based diet of Bob Sanders? Grow a pair and go off grid…you see a weakness you picked up in film shoot the freaking gap and make a play. You may get benched, but that’s not on you. Being afraid to make a mistake is a mistake in itself.

However the game goes, I have a feeling it won’t because Iowa is not prepared or going after it to win. Granted, I was disappointed in the Minny effort all the way around. With the coaching, especially.

On this thread my first thought was about what a negative clown Peterson is. Check the headline. I don’t like his sneering know it all photo either.

Just my take. I won’t be back on any of his posts.

    Go Hawks, I say.
