McNutt rewrites Hawkeye record book in win
Marvin McNutt added to his receiving records with another stellar game in Iowa’s 31-21 win over Purdue.

McNutt also holds Iowa records for receiving yards in a season (1,240) and career (2,786). For the day, he had nine catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns, tying a career-high with nine receptions. It marked the fifth straight week McNutt collected over 100 receiving yards. McNutt has posted over 100 receiving yards in eight games this year.
McNutt now has 162 career receptions for 2,768 yards. His reception yardage total is first in Iowa history and his career reception total is now only 11 shy of tying the Iowa record. McNutt.
For the season, McNutt, Jr. has 74 receptions for 1,240 yards (16.8 avg.) and 12 scores. The 1,240 yards is an Iowa single-season record and his 74 receptions rank second best. McNutt has scored 168 career points, which ranks 10th at Iowa. He has 28 career touchdown receptions. He had eight scoring receptions in both 2009 and 2010.
McNutt also has more yards per catch than any of Iowa’s other top career receivers. He has 17.2 yards per catch, almost a full yard ahead of Tim Dwight, two yards ahead of Derrell Johnson-Koulianos and Danan Hughes and three yards ahead of Ronnie Harmon.
