From UI Sports Information:

Former University of Iowa men’s basketball player and Iowa’s all-time leading scorer Roy Marble has worked in conjunction with Brian Meeks on a book entitled “Two Decades and Counting: The Streak, The Wins, the Hawkeyes, Thru the Eyes of Roy Marble.”

The book is scheduled to launch Saturday at the Iowa versus Penn State basketball game in Iowa City. The 1986-87 Hawkeyes will be celebrating their 25th anniversary on Saturday afternoon in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. That special team will be honored before the game.

Players from the 1987 team will be signing autographs on the concourse of Carver-Hawkeye Arena from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and copies of the book will be available for purchase on the concourse at Herky’s Locker Room.

The book chronicles the 1987 Iowa men’s basketball’s team that won its first 18 games, reached the number one ranking in the country, posted a school-record 30 wins and was one victory from reaching the program’s fourth NCAA Final Four.

The book will initially be available at select Cedar Rapids Hy-Vee Food & Drug stores, The Black & Gold Shops in Iowa City and Davenport, University Book Store and Hawk Shop, Herky’s Locker Room and Barnes & Noble in Iowa City and Coralville. It will also be available after the launch online at Amazon.com, for both print and Kindle versions. The Nook version will be available at that time, as well.

Marble and Meeks are currently making arrangements for a book signing tour in the state. As dates and locations are added, the information will be posted at extremelyaverage.com, the author’s website.
