Iowa releases salaries for new football assistant coaches

[ 2 ] March 8, 2012 |

University of Iowa athletic officials released the compensation figures for three new assistant coaches on the Hawkeye football coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator Greg Davis will be paid a base salary of $300,000, while offensive line coach Brian Ferentz will receive $202,400. Linebackers coach LeVar Woods will be paid $187,000.

The three coaches were selected out of a pool of 169 applicants, officials said. Those applicants included high school, college and professional coaches.

Davis, a former offensive coordinator at Texas, fills the vacancy created when former Hawkeye assistant Ken O’Keefe resigned to join the coaching staff of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Ferentz and Woods fill openings created with shifting assignments for assistants Reece Morgan and Darrell Wilson, respectively.
