Former Hawkeye Dallas Clark to be honored at 2012 Heart of Gold Gala
Former Hawkeye and Indianapolis Colt football player Dallas Clark will be honored as a Hawkeye Heart Hero at the 2012 Heart of Gold Gala.
The Hawkeye Heart Hero award is a new award for volunteerism. Clark will be honored for his work as a national spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement. Clark’s mother died from a heart attack when he was 18.
The event raises money for cardiovascular education and research and will be held March 30 in the Kinnick press box.
Guests can enjoy a wine reception, craft beer sampling, heart-healthy appetizers, music and a live and silent auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit heart education and research. Last year, the Heart of Gold Gala raised $80,000.
