Rucker joins 2013 recruiting class
A high school defensive back from Minnesota is the latest player to join the Iowa football team’s 2013 recruiting class.
Malik Rucker, a 6-foot, 180-pound native of New Hope, Minn., committed to Iowa on Friday according to HawkeyeInsider.com. Rucker picked Iowa over scholarship offers from Iowa State, Illinois, Minnesota, Boston College, Arizona State, North Carolina State, Kansas and several others.
Rucker is ranked as a three-star recruit by Scout.com and the 49th best safety prospect in the 2013 senior class.
He also is thought to be at least the ninth player to join Iowa’s 2013 recruiting class, all of whom are high school seniors-to-be.
