The Iowa football team continues to add to its 2013 recruiting class with a receiver from St. Louis the latest to pledge his allegiance.

Derrick Mitchell Jr., a 6-foot, 185-pound senior-to-be at Vashon High School in St. Louis, committed to Iowa on Thursday according to several online reports.

Mitchell picked Iowa over offers from Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Cincinnati and Indiana among others. He is ranked as a three-star recruit by Scout.com.

Iowa is recruiting Mitchell as a receiver, but he plays several roles for his high school team. He finished with 808 passing yards, 518 rushing yards and 277 receiving yards as a junior last season. He also had 39 tackles and one interception on defense
