Former Iowa SID Wine’s funeral to be held Saturday
A memorial service for former University of Iowa sports information director George Wine will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church (320 E. College St.) in Iowa City.
Wine passed away July 5. He was 81. He served as Iowa’s sports information director from 1968-93 and continued with the Iowa athletics department in phased retirement until 1996.
