[ 0 ] September 20, 2012 |

You’re well-versed on everything related to Iowa heading into Saturday’s 11 a.m. football game against Central Michigan at Kinnick Stadium. Now, you want to book up on the Chippewas.

You’ve come to the right place.

“When Mike Repovz did not win a starting job on the Central Michigan University offensive line heading into this season, he did not gripe about it or let it impact his work ethic. He could have hung his head after starting all 12 games at left guard for the Chippewas in 2011, then losing the job to sophomore Andy Phillips in camp after dealing with an injury. Instead, he just kept on plugging away knowing that he was the next man in on the offensive line.” A story about patience and dedication and hard work, from the Mount Pleasant (Mich.) Morning Sun.

“The season is only three weeks old and it seems as though it’s been a roller-coaster. In effect, it’s impossible to say “never” as it concerns the 2012 Iowa Hawkeyes, or any Kirk Ferentz-coached Hawkeye squad for that matter. Nonetheless, their opponent this week—the Central Michigan Chippewas—are tied for the 103rd-worst program in the country between 2010-2011, their first two seasons under head coach Dan Enos.” From the bleacher report, aka b/r:

Actually, there’s not a lot of love for the Central Michigan football team that comes to Kinnick on Saturday, it says in USA Today. A look at Jeff Sagarin’s NCAA football ratings places the Chippewas as the 113th worst team in the country.

“When Michigan State came to town two weeks ago, the Spartans served Central Michigan University a Big Ten-sized lesson. The Chippewas are hoping a bye week’s worth of studying helped it sink in. Central Michigan coach Dan Enos feels good about where the Chippewas stand coming out of their bye week, heading into Saturday’s showdown with the Iowa Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.” This offering from mlive.com.

Central Michigan coach Dan Enos helped recruit some of the Michigan State players that defeated the Chippewas two weeks ago. Here’s a Detroit Free Press story:
