All Aboard for the Hawkeye Express
Memo to Central Michigan fans making their first trip to Kinnick Stadium, home of the Iowa football team:
Drive to the Coralville Mall area, drop off your car (for free), pay the Hawkeye Express conductor $12 for adults (kids 12 and under are free), and let the engineer take you to Saturday’s 11 a.m. game against the Hawkeyes.
The first All-Aboard is at 5 a.m. on Saturday. Return trips start during the fourth quarter and run for 90 minutes after the game’s final horn.
You won’t be alone:
An average of 5,138 fans have taken the train during the first three games, which, if that trend continues, will be a record.
The 2008 average was 3,939 per game, it was 4,297 in 2009, 4,421 in 2010, and 4.592 last season.
