Heralded defensive end de-commits from Iowa
This weekend wasn’t a total success for the Iowa football program.
A day after hanging on for a 19-16 double-overtime victory at Michigan State, Iowa couldn’t hang on to one of its top recruits. High school senior defensive end David Kenney confirmed today that he has de-committed from the Hawkeyes.
The Indianapolis native was the first member of the 2013 high school senior class to commit to Iowa in early April.
There is speculation Kenney now will soon commit to Indiana, where his father is a member of the football staff under coach Kevin Wilson.
Kenney was one of two four-star prospects in Iowa’s 2013 recruiting class. The other is defensive back Delano Hill from Detroit. Iowa now has 15 players in its 2013 class.
