Marble nurses sore hip, looks for groove on offense
Iowa City, Ia. – Devyn Marble has played the first two games this season with a sore hip, but Iowa’s junior guard said it’s no big deal.
“I injured it in the Creighton scrimmage (Oct. 28),” Marble said. “I’ve been wearing a pad on it until I get back to 100 percent. Its’ not bothering me. I just wear (the protection) so it doesn’t flare up.”
Marble scored 18 points in <a href="http://www.hawkeyespor

“I’m missing shots I normally don’t miss,” said Marble, who was 4-of-12 and scored 11 points in the opener against Texas-Pan American on Friday.
Marble played point guard last season. He’s moved off the ball for the most part this season, though he did play a spell at point in the first half Monday. In the second half, three point guards were on the floor in Marble and freshmen Anthony Clemmons and Mike Gesell.
“I was really able to roam around,” Marble said. “Those guys got me open shots and got other people open shots. When you get Mike and Sapp (Clemmons’ nickname) out there, and me at the three, that’s a really good lineup as far as a backcourt.”
