Sunday’s Iowa wrestling preview
MAT MATTERS: The fifth-ranked Hawkeyes are one of 14 teams that will be on the mats today inside New York City’s Madison Square Garden for the Grapple at the Garden. Iowa takes on Hofstra and Bucknell. The Hawkeyes enter with eight nationally-ranked wrestlers and seven unbeatens. Two-time NCAA champion Matt McDonough is slated to face Hofstra all-American Steve Bonanno, who is ranked 19th at 125. Iowa’s 149-pounder — either Michael Kelly or Brody Grothus — will face sixth-ranked Justin Accordino. Bucknell’s lineup features a pair of returning NCAA qualifiers, including No. 16 Corey Lear at 165.
