IOWA CITY, Ia. – Devyn Marble, Iowa’s leading scorer, miss
ed Thursday night's game against Michigan State because of a right ankle injury.
Iowa spokesman Matt Weitzel said Marble, Iowa’s leading scorer at 15.5 points per game, was injured in practice Monday. Marble was replaced in the starting lineup by Eric May, who scored five points and grabbed seven rebounds. It was the first start this season for May, a senior from Dubuque who has started 69 games in his career.
It was the first game Marble missed in his Iowa career. Marble was on the floor with his teammates Thursday taking some shots an hour before the 6 p.m. tipoff.
McCaffery called him “iffy” for Sunday’s game at Northwestern afterward.
