MADISON, Wis. – Morgan Johnson got back to form with 23 points Thursday night and the Iowa women’s basketball team beat Wisconsin 65-56 at the Kohl Center.
Johnson, a senior center for the Hawkeyes who was limited to 10 points on seven shots Sunday in a 68-64 loss against Michigan, made 6-of-12 from the field and 11-of-11 from the free-throw line Thursday.
Johnson, who grabbed 11 rebounds, got some help from Samantha Logic, who scored 12 points, collected 10 rebounds and dished nine assists. Jaime Printy added 10 points for Iowa (13-4, 2-1 Big Ten Conference).
The Hawkeyes trailed 24-22 at halftime after shooting just 7-of-28 (25 percent), but went on to shoot 14-of-27 (.519) in the second half. Meanwhile, Wisconsin made just 18-of-54 (.333) from the floor. The Badgers (8-8, 0-3) were led by Morgan Paige’s 18 points, but were outrebounded 45-25 by the Hawkeyes.
