Hawks part ways with Trevon Young, according to recruiting sites
Iowa has pulled its scholarship offer to Des Moines Lincoln High School senior Trevon Young, according to 247sports.com and Rivals recruiting web sites.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end had two legal run-ins in Des Moines.
The first was last July, when he was arrested for third-degree burglary and interference with official acts. The second was a December charge of criminal trespassing.
Tom Mihalovich, who coached Young at Lincoln, said Tuesday he is unaware of the scholarship being pulled.
Young hasn’t returned multiple messages left by The Register.
“It was real close between Iowa and Iowa State,” Young told the Register when committing to Iowa last June. “I just went with what I felt was best for me.”
