Chris Street will be honored at halftime of Saturday’s Iowa-Wisconsin basketball game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa’s Chris Street Award winners will also be recognized during the ceremony. The award, first given in 1993, is presented annually to “a Hawkeye player who best exemplifies the spirit, enthusiasm and intensity of Chris Street.”
Iowa players will wear CMS 40 patches on their uniforms for the game, which occurs on the 20th anniversary of Street’s death in a car accident on the outskirts of Iowa City. Coaches will wear “40’ lapel pins. Street’s No. 40 was retired in 1993. Hawkeye players will also wear T-shirts that honor Street when they warm up.
