IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior Morgan Johnson has been selected to the NetScouts Basketball United States All-Star team. Johnson, along with nine other NCAA Division I seniors, will travel to China for 15 days to play against other national teams.

The all-star team will be in China from May 1-15 and will face national teams from Austrailia, Brazil and China. Johnson is joined on the team by Taelor Karr (Gonzaga), Jacqui Kalin (Northern Iowa), Jamie Russell (Illinois State), Adrian Ritchie (Green Bay), Lauren Oosdyke (Northern Colorado), Kate Thompson (Michigan), Sam Ostarello (Purdue), Samantha Heck (Evansville) and Stephanie Sension (Green Bay).

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” Johnson said. “I’m still exploring the option of playing professionally overseas and this tournament will help in the decision making process. I’m honored that NetScouts added me to the roster.”

Johnson started all 34 games this season and was a second team All-Big Ten selection and a Capital One Academic All-District pick. She ranked inside the top 10 in six different Big Ten statistical categories while leading Iowa in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (7.5).

Johnson finished her career as Iowa’s all-time leading shot blocker (293), holds the school record for career games played and consecutive games played (130), career starts (129), ranks fourth in career rebounds (886) and ninth in career scoring (1,582).
