Big Ten Network primetime football games announced; no Iowa games chosen

The Big Ten Network announced its own primetime football schedule Monday, with eight conference teams featured among the network’s dozen games.

The Iowa Hawkeyes were among the four teams left off the initial evening slate.

Five of the games feature a pre-season top-25 Big Ten team, while three of the 12 matchups feature games versus teams from the SEC, ACC and Pac-12 conferences.

In all, the network will televise 47 football games. Start times for other games will be announced later in the year.

Thursday, August 29

  • 6 p.m. – UNLV at Minnesota

Friday, August 30

  • 7 p.m. – Western Michigan at Michigan State

Saturday, August 31

  • 7 p.m. – Wyoming at Nebraska

Saturday, September 7

  • 5 p.m. – Syracuse at Northwestern
  • 5 p.m. – Southern Miss at Nebraska

Saturday, September 14

  • 5 p.m. – UCF at Penn State
  • 5 p.m. – Washington vs. Illinois (at Soldier Field)
  • 8 p.m. – Western Michigan at Northwestern

Saturday, September 21

  • 7 p.m. – Missouri at Indiana

Saturday, October 19

  • 7 p.m. – Wisconsin at Illinois

Saturday, September 7
