Start times set for Iowa’s first two football games

[ 0 ] June 12, 2013 |

Start times have been set for Iowa’s first two football games, and both will air on the Big Ten Network.

The Hawkeyes’ Aug. 31 opener against Northern Illinois will kick off at 2:30 p.m. The next week’s game against Missouri State will begin at 11 a.m.

Northern Illinois is a trendy top 25 team after earning an BCS berth last season.

Quarterback Jordan Lynch is back after throwing for 3,138 yards and 25 touchdowns during last year’s run to the Orange Bowl, which started after an 18-17 loss to Iowa.

The Hawkeyes, meanwhile, are still searching for a starting quarterback.

Missouri State is coached by former UNI player and coach Terry Allen.

The Bears averaged just 13 points and 99.3 rushing yards in 2012, while posting a 3-8 record. Northern Iowa beat Missouri State 38-13.
