Former Iowa All-American quarterback Chuck Long has a new job. He started Monday as a business development executive with insurance broker Holmes Murphy.

Long, who had coaching jobs at San Diego State University and University of Kansas after an NFL career, will work in the Cedar Rapids office. He will continue to broadcast with the Big Ten Network, Holmes Murphy said.

The Holmes Murphy team is stacked with former Hawkeyes and jocks in general. Early partner Ray Murphy Jr. played on the Iowa’s legendary “Ironmen” football team of 1939. Chairman Jim Swift was a tight end with Iowa, and CEO Dan Keough was on the Hawkeye baseball team.
