Departing Hawkeye charged with OWI

[ 0 ] August 3, 2013 |

Cameron Wilson, a former Iowa football receiver, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Iowa officials issued a release Saturday, confirming Wilson was no longer a member of the Hawkeye football program and had not participated in any team activities since early July, after notifying coach Kirk Ferentz he wanted to transfer.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Wilson redshirted last season after a stellar prep career at Dublin, Ohio.

He was charged with first-offense OWI at 4:02 a.m. Saturday.

Iowa begins summer camp this week, and that’s when rosters are typically finalized.
