Oddsmakers don’t expect many points in Iowa-Michigan State

[ 0 ] October 1, 2013 |

Oddsmakers aren’t expecting a lot of scoring in Saturday’s grudge match between Iowa and Michigan State.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the over-under was listed at 38.5 points, according to ESPN.com.

That was the lowest total out the 50-plus games listed.

The over-under for Arkansas and Florida was 43 points. North Carolina-Virginia Tech was 45 points.

Iowa beat the Spartans 19-16 last year in double overtime.

As far as this year’s meeting, oddsmakers list it as a virtual pick-em.

Ticket update: Iowa officials said Tuesday about 2,000 tickets remain for Saturday’s game against Michigan State.

There are 3,000 tickets still available for an Oct. 26 game against Northwestern and a Nov. 2 showdown with Wisconsin.

The Hawkeyes are still seeking their first sellout this season at Kinnick Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 70,585.

A crowd of 67,402 attended the opener against Northern Illinois, and 64,201 were at the second game against Missouri State. A game against Western Michigan drew 66,886.
