Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz acknowledged Sunday night that he could lose all-Big Ten junior left offensive tackle Brandon Scherff to the NFL a year early.
“We’ve had that conversation,” said Ferentz who has most recently seen Bryan Bulaga and Reilly Reiff leave early and get drafted in the first round. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. It’s no great secret he’ll have a choice. He’s a very good football player.”
Ferentz added that “there’s no urgency right now. So when it’s time for him to comment on that, he will do so. He’s done a great job. We just have a lot of good young people on this football team. And he is one of them.”
