Ferentz ‘liberal’ with curfews — but there’s a caveat

[ 0 ] December 23, 2013 |

Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz said he wants his players to explore the Tampa area … but don’t be late.

“It’s really important that the guys enjoy the bowl game,” Ferentz said. “This is a reward. They have worked hard to get this opportunity.

“This is a place where I think the players will enjoy, and we encourage them to.”

But then the coach added, “The thing we also encourage them to do is, when it’s time to work, be it meetings or practice, that they focus on that.

“That’s really all we’re going to ask them to do.”

There will be curfews, but Ferentz said they will be “liberal on the front end.”
