Jake Rudock wore a brace on his left knee at practice Saturday, but Iowa’s sophomore quarterback said he’s good to go for Wednesday’s Outback Bowl against No. 14 LSU.
“I’m feeling good,” Rudock said. “Both knees feel real good. The time off really helps.
“I’m ready to go.”
Rudock was sldelined with a knee sprain in the third quarter of a 28-9 loss to Wisconsin on Nov. 2. He was also sidelined with the same injury in the third quarter of a 38-17 victory at Nebraska on Nov. 29.
In both cases, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Rudock could have returned to the game if necessary. C.J. Beathard finished both games.
Rest has helped get Rudock closer to 100 percent.
“I think he’s fine,” offensive coordinator Greg Davis said. “We tried to be smart with him in Iowa City (during bowl practices). Especially in team work, just in case somebody would get knocked into his legs.”
