Will this be another offseason of change for Iowa’s football coaching staff?

This afternoon, NFL insider Gil Brandt, former vice-president of player personnel for the Dallas Cowboys, sent the following tweet:

“Have ben told Bill O’Brien will hire Brian Ferentz as his OL coach w #Texans. Son of Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz. Good choice.”

If that comes to pass, it will end Brian Ferentz’s two-year tenure as the Hawkeyes’ line coach.

The former three-year letter-winner for Iowa spent four seasons on staff with the New England Patriots before coming to work for his father.

His departure would leave Kirk Ferentz with a decision to make. Does he put Reese Morgan back in that spot? Or, bring in another new face?

Ferentz has hired six new assistant coaches the past two seasons, including both coordinators.

As always, nothing is official until either the Houston Texans or Iowa makes it so.
