Did ESPN analyst Jay Bilas jinx the Hawkeyes?

[ 0 ] March 17, 2014 |

Kiss of death? On Jan. 22, ESPN’s Jay Bilas used Twitter to heap praise on Iowa’s basketball team.

He tweeted:

Iowa, ranked 10th nationally at the time, lost at Michigan on the day of Bilas’ tweet, 75-67. Bilas also worked as an analyst on ESPN’s telecast of Iowa’s 71-69 overtime loss to Michigan State on Jan. 28.

The Hawkeyes enter Wednesday’s first-round NCAA game against Tennessee with six losses in their last seven games. But Bilas still has faith. On ESPN’s NCAA Tournament show Sunday, Bilas picked Iowa to beat the Volunteers and Massachusetts in the first two rounds before falling to Duke.
