DAYTON, Ohio – When he walked into Dayton Arena Tuesday, Iowa coach Fran McCaffery was flooded with pleasant memories.

McCaffery’s ninth-seeded Siena team beat No. 8 Ohio State in a first-round NCAA game at Dayton Arena in 2009, 74-72 in double overtime.

“We’re in the locker room (this season) right next to the locker room that we celebrated in,” McCaffery said. “I remember walking off the floor like it was yesterday. Coach (Andrew) Francis and I were just talking about it. A great feeling, and an incredible sense of accomplishment. I hope to enjoy a similar experience.”

Siena’s Ronald Moore forced a second overtime with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, than made another one from the same spot to win the game.

“Double that order,” said Francis, now an assistant at Iowa.
