Cole Huff announced Sunday that he will continue his college basketball career at Creighton instead of Iowa.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Altadena, Calif., who played his first two seasons at Nevada, made official visits to both schools last week. Huff, who had also considered Michigan and Dayton, averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Wolfpack last season.

Huff’s decision means Iowa still has two scholarships remaining for the 2014-15 season. Iowa also finished second in the recruitment of junior college power forward Willie Atwood, who selected Arizona State over the Hawkeyes on April 24.

“I like going into this (2015) class with scholarships,” Iowa coach Fran McCaffery said last month.

Iowa already has a verbal commitment from one Class of 2015 prospect — Brandon Hutton, a 6-6 forward from Chicago De La Salle. Assuming that McCaffery adds no late signees this spring, the Hawkeyes will have four more scholarships available in the Class of 2015 because Josh Oglesby, Aaron White and Gabe Olaseni will be seniors next season.

Iowa also got a commitment last week from Cordell Pemsl, a 6-7 forward from Dubuque Wahlert who is in the Class of 2016.
