WEDNESDAY’S GAME
WHO: Minnesota (16-6, 4-5 Big Ten) at Iowa (11-11, 3-6)
WHERE: Carver-Hawkeye Arena, Iowa City.
TIPOFF: 7:30 p.m.
TELEVISION: Big Ten Network.
It’s time to bring out the broom and sweep this series for home crowd tonight. A critical game to stop the losses.
I will be working late so I will need another forumite to step up and keep it going. Closer, Golden, NYC, etc. Anyone?

I feel like the season is spiraling into the abyss! With this game being at home, where we havn’t played well, i’m tempering expectations.
1 more win and were better than last year. :-(
I’ll be there. Little concerned that Hawks will think they already beat these guys in their arena, while Goophs will be looking for revenge. Let’s hope they “bring effort on” D tonight.

agree with closer. i’m very concerned about this game. we don’t play well against teams we think we can beat!
this year’s team has pretty much confused me and i think they’ve confused fran. worse, they might have confused themselves. so many steps forward, then back. at the beginning of the year, i was pretty sure the team’s performance might be up and down. i honestly thought the effort and level of concentration would be fairly consistent, though.
if i bite my tongue i can tolerate the nearly inevitable variability caused by lack if size, speed, or skill that characterizes the roster. the complicating second layer of variability caused by poor effort and lack of concentration is much harder to take.
i have no idea what to expect tonight. i doubt anybody does.
Lol, that’s right closer those two words must be seperate from each other as I found out the hard (no pun intended) way. Also a certain first name that starts with a “D” and rymes with Vick, Mick, Slick, Nick, will not be allowed so don’t bother using the name dick…….. See what I mean.
Silver, I think White has shown all three of those attributes; size, speed, and skill. Oglesby showed off his shooting skills last game also, and McCabe has shown a lot of heart over the last four games. Now if you want to question consistency then I don’t think your get an argument from to many on here. I do see great potential for the future of this program. Next season may be dicey as the new guards learn the system but by the end of the season next year our hope for the following season after that should be very high. The freshmen from next year will be sophomores, our freshmen from this year will be Juniors and McCabe, Marble, Basabe will be seniors and they will be dominant seniors who will lead the Iowa Hawkeyes toward a Big Ten title and a high seed in the NCAA tournament. Mark it on your calendars and have your season tickets already boughten. Go Hawks Go, beat Minny, we know you can do it!!!

agreed, the hawks have some talented players, but not enuf to be routinely competitive or to win consistently right now. i wasn’t really speculating abt the future–just characterizing this team. we can hope…
Silver some of the weaknesses are glaring and I can’t deny that, one especially that should be helped with next years class.

you know, if basabe gets 2 fouls in the first half, i’d leave him in. taking him out doesn’t work. if he fouls out and has to sit–not worse than sitting because he’s playing poorly worrying about fouling out.
Agree, Silver. I’d rather see kids use all their fouls and foul out if that is what happens. At least we know they played the maximum number of minutes allowed. When you sit them with 2 fouls and they finish the game with 3, you wonder if they could have been on the floor for a lot more minutes. Sometimes fouls just come in flurries, and then stop.
Anybody watching the Michigan /Indiana game? Less than 4 minutes to go and Indiana hasn’t hit 50 yet.

Prediction? It’d be like rolling a die, flipping a coin… Next year should be better, but Im not expecting much until The following year. Btw, did anyone watch Devin’s interview on BTW? Someone needs to grab that kid’s feet and pull him down to earth. He has a lot of work before he can compare himself to his daddy. I didn’t appreciate his irreverent attitude toward his dad at all!
