Wow. Seriously!?!?!?!? I’m not completely surprised, but still kinda stunned if this is true. And coming from you ehawks, I don’t doubt it is true! Guess we’ll be waiting another month+ to find out who the new OC will be now.

Would have been nice to be a fly on the wall in this situation. My guess is that KF expressed some displeasure at the lack of improvement by JVB and the offense in general, and may have hinted that KOK is on thin ice. KOK knows Philbin well and probably contacted him about getting out when the getting is good. We’ll never know the facts but you have to wonder.

I guess it is up to KF now. It was his ship before, but I used to push my blame at times off on KOK and yes, I’ll say it, Norm Parker. But now with both gone, and starting over from scratch, he will assume full responsibility from me in how this things goes. we’ll see how big of pair he has to shake things up and create some excitement and buzz again around Iowa football. honestly, both sides of the ball had become stale anyways.

very surprising to say the least. Many people were hoping that it would happen… same time when Norm announced but didn’t hear anything so we have live with it for a while longer.
Nobody knows for sure (maybe 80s) as to who did the initiating Kirk or Philbin. Anyway, it’s a relief. But now be careful with what you wish for. Who will take over both Coord. jobs? Pretty late in the game.
But if we have to wait until after the Super Bowl then the Giants LB coach rumor holds quite a bit of water. Bradley would be nice. I still like Diaco as a poss. He’s a little bit fiery and can recruit. Btw, Diaco, Kerry Cooks and Bobby Elliot are all at ND.
And please, no talk of Chuck Long fo OC.

Spring fever in IA winters this year and KOK flying south, wonderful start of a new year for FB already, lol. Will be interesting with new coordinators next year and offensive players developing in the future, wow, what a rosy future for Hawks. NC baby!
