Retired (IMO asked to) today
The preliminary short list-Gary Barta was just mentioned on KARE-11 as a possible replacement along with others.
I hate being a Iowan living in Minnesota.

Was that Venturi? His track record has not been good in the premier sports. Tubby is starting to look like a tweener – there was a reason why KY pushed him out the door.
The Goophies have been pretty good in the non-revenue sports.

Joel Maturi-did not have an NCAA incident. Did not make good hires in football. Can’t see Barta going to another BIG school

The day Iowa played MN, Barta was interviewed on WCCO and stated “I would jump at a chance to be the AD at Minnesota. He is from Minneapolis after all..

Did he really say that to a media outlet? That would be pretty stupid on his part. These things are best done behind closed doors.
